#Myocardial Infarction
Myocardial Infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow to a part of the heart muscle is severely reduced or completely blocked, leading to the death of heart tissue. This blockage is most often due to a blood clot forming in a coronary artery narrowed by atherosclerosis. Symptoms can include chest pain, shortness of breath, pain radiating to the arm, and lightheadedness. MI is a medical emergency requiring immediate treatment to restore blood flow and minimize heart damage.
