Details
Pharmadexnicol Eye Drops combine Dexamethasone (a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation) and Chloramphenicol (a broad-spectrum antibiotic) to treat bacterial eye infections and associated inflammation. It relieves redness, pain, and swelling while eliminating infection-causing bacteria.
Available Product Formulations
Sterile ophthalmic solution: 5 mL dropper bottle.
Uses
- Treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis (red eye).
- Reduces swelling, redness, and itching caused by infection.
- Prevents bacterial growth and supports faster healing.
- Post-surgical or injury-related eye inflammation (as prescribed).
How to Use
- Dosage: 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4–6 hours, or as prescribed by a doctor.
- Administration: Wash hands, tilt head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid, instill drop(s), and close the eye. Avoid touching the dropper tip.
- Duration: Complete full course of treatment even if symptoms improve early.
Side Effects
Possible but generally mild and temporary:
- Temporary stinging, burning, or blurred vision
- Watery eyes, eye discomfort
- Rare: allergic reaction, eye pain, secondary fungal infections with prolonged use
Interactions
May interact with other topical ophthalmic medications. If using multiple eye drops, allow at least 10 minutes between applications. Prolonged corticosteroid use may increase intraocular pressure—monitor patients with glaucoma risk.
Warnings
For ophthalmic use only. Do not use contact lenses during treatment. Avoid prolonged use unless under strict medical supervision. Not recommended for viral or fungal eye infections. Store below 25°C and protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
