Tutorials
appointments, billing, and reporting in one secure, cloud-based platform.
Built for clinics and hospitals in Africa (including Tanzania), MediSwit
reduces paperwork, improves accuracy, and helps teams deliver better care.
Available Product Formulations
- Acacia — Basic EMR, patient registration, appointments.
- Kilimanjaro — Includes billing, inventory, reporting modules.
- Serengeti — Multi-branch, integrations, SLA support.
Uses
MediSwit is used to digitize and manage clinical workflows: patient records,
visit notes, prescriptions, appointments, billing, reporting, and basic
inventory. It is especially helpful in resource-limited settings for:
- Reducing lost or fragmented patient records in outpatient clinics.
- Automating billing and insurance claims for faster payments.
- Generating clinical and operational reports for management and audits.
How to Use
- Sign up & register clinic: Create an account and enter clinic details.
- Create staff users: Add clinicians, reception, and admin accounts with roles.
- Patient intake: Register new patients with demographics and contact info.
- Daily workflow: Use appointment book, consult notes, prescribe medicines, and generate invoices.
- Reporting: Run daily/weekly/monthly reports for revenue, patient load, and stock.
- Integrations: Connect labs, pharmacies, accounting tools, or export data as needed.
- Training & support: Complete guided tutorials (see Tutorials section) before full rollout.
Side Effects (Operational Risks)
- Initial learning curve for staff not familiar with digital systems.
- Potential interruptions during poor internet connectivity or planned maintenance.
- Errors from incorrect data entry if staff are untrained.
Interactions (Integrations)
MediSwit integrates via APIs and CSV imports with laboratory systems, pharmacy
systems, accounting software (e.g., DawaSwit),
and third-party telemedicine or SMS gateways. Ensure API keys and mapping
are configured correctly to avoid sync errors.
Warnings
- Ensure compliance with local health data regulations (e.g., Tanzania laws).
- Use strong passwords and restrict user roles to minimize data exposure.
- Maintain regular backups to safeguard patient data.
- Do not rely on MediSwit as the sole source during migration — keep paper backups until validation is complete.

How MediSwit Works
MediSwit uses a secure cloud-first architecture: user actions are recorded
in an encrypted database and available across authorized devices. The core
modules (Patient Registry, Appointments, Consult Notes, Prescriptions,
Billing, Inventory, and Reports) share a normalized data model to avoid
duplication. Role-based access control (RBAC) enforces data access rules.
Data exchange uses RESTful APIs and standard export formats (CSV/Excel).
Audit logs and backups support compliance and recovery.
